Bone Yard Fest

Part 1

That was definitely Wu Fei, Heero was sure of it now. The Chinese boy was twenty people behind the window, and only three in front of him. He silently swore Duo. If it wasn't for the American, he would have been first in line like always. But since the braided boy couldn't remember to tell him that the car was low on gas and had a flat, he was in the middle of the line, and well in danger of completely losing the chance to purchase tickets to Bone Yard.

Bone Yard was Heero's favorite band. To say he was a huge fan would have been an understatement. Not only was he the first member of their fan club; own every single item of merchandise ever made; but he's been following the band long before they were ever discovered. He had yet to miss a single show and still had stubs to every concert he had been to. This was their farewell concert, for the band members were having problems and decided to break up; much to the fans dismay. Getting tickets before was always hard. They were the number one band on every chart as of now; and getting tickets before meant getting in line exactly two days before the actual ticket sell date.

Heero had been waiting the entire two days. Trowa had been by several times to bring him food; keep him company; and wait in line so he could use the bathroom. Wu Fei, however, had just shown up and relieved a girl that he must have known. At first, Heero believed he was there just to relieve the girl for a bathroom break. . .but two hours later, she didn't return. . .meaning Wu Fei was probably there to stay.

Heero toyed with the ideal of going to talk to Wu Fei. True, there were only three people between them, but those three people could be representing ten other people who couldn't make it to stand in line. Three people could make all the difference between getting sucky seats, and none at all. Besides, the last time the two ex-pilots met, they didn't really part on good terms. There was a possibility that Wu Fei could still be holding a grudge. Risking the advance could also mean losing his place in line completely.

Heero looked down at his watch. Trowa usually showed up, like clockworks, at noon with lunch. When he shows up, Heero could send him up to talk to Wu Fei. As far as he knew, the two of them were on good terms. However, it was only eleven-twenty and the window would open at eleven-thirty. He decided to wait; better safe than sorry. Besides, if they do sell out, he knew he would somehow talk Wu Fei out of his. . . .no matter the cost or extent.

Finally the window opened. Heero tried to watch the clerk and read what she was saying so that he could get a good ideal of his chances of getting a ticket. . .however, the person standing in front of him was a huge, well built man that seemed to always be standing in the way. The big man couldn't seem to stand still as he kept swaying side to side, either out of anticipation, or fatigue from standing. Due to this, Heero missed what the first couple of people wanted. Not wanting to miss any more, he tapped the man's shoulder, causing him to turn around. The older guy looked down at Heero, appearing to be peeved at being touched.

"What?!"

"You want to stay to one side. . .please." He added as an afterthought, hoping that his false politeness would ease the man to do what he asked.

"And what if I don't?" With that, he stood right in front of Heero. There was a grin plaguing his face as if mocking the Japanese boy. A smirk pulled at Heero's lips for a quick second before he quickly jabbed the man in the gut. The hefty figure fell to his knees, clutching his stomach in pain, and Heero could see the window clerk plainly. The lady standing in front of the man turned around as he groaned in pain.

"Are you okay mister?" She asked and kneeled next to him. Obviously no one noticed Heero's attack.

"I think I heard him say that he was diabetic. He might be passing out." Heero offered and the lady nodded, looking concernly at the man in pain.

"Will you save my spot while I try and help him? If I'm not back before then, could you buy two Bone Yard tickets and I'll pay you back?" Heero nodded. "Thanks." His nod turned into a 'no' as she somehow managed to roll the big man out of line. By this time, several of the line goers were watching in befuddlement at the scene. Well that was easy. Now two people were out of the way. He quickly stepped forward to close the small gap in the line. Now only ten people stood between him and Bone Yard. He could still probably talk to the Preventer and clear two more obstacles. Curious about his chances, he looked up at the window to find that the woman was claiming that there wasn't many tickets left.

Heero bit his lip and swallowed his pride. Just as he was about to call to him, the Chinese boy turned his attention behind. A knowing look plagued his coal eyes as he stared at Heero. Clearly, Wu Fei had a good ideal about what had truly happened to the injured man. Heero tried to look innocent, but then that wasn't really one of his strongest points.

"I didn't know you were a Bone Yard fan." He stated, just to get things going.

"I'm not."

"Then what are you in line for?"

"Sally."

". . .hn?. . ."

"Sally is visiting her niece for a few weeks. Her niece is the fan."

"The girl you relieved earlier?"

"Yeah."

"How many tickets are you getting?"

"Four."

"What?!" A smile pulled at Wu Fei's lips and Heero wondered if he was saying as much because it was true, or because he wanted to get under his skin.

"Sally wants to go too, so she can spend more time with her niece. Her niece has a boyfriend, and Sally didn't want to be a fifth wheel."

"So she's making you go as her date."

"She's not making me, and it's not a date."

"Well, let me go instead." The Chinese boy turned to glare at his rival.

"That's not funny."

"Well, you don't like Bone Yard, and you claim that you don't like Sally. . ."

"What's the matter? Didn't bring enough money?"

"Hey, if it wasn't for Duo, I would have been first in line."

"That's it. . .blame Maxwell for not making it on time."

"Is it a deal or what?" The coal eyes searched the colbat ones in curiosity. "I'll pay you back for the ticket. Money's not a problem." There was still two people in front of Wu Fei, and they were nearly sold out. The way they were going, Wu Fei would be lucky to get at least one.

"Oh, then it's the obsession problem."

"I'm not obsessed. You're going the right way for a ass kickin'."

"You're going to do it?"

"Keep talkin'." There was a thin boy standing between the two rowdy boys. He was what many would consider a 'geek' and probably didn't know how to fight. It was proven as he started to back out of line. The way Heero and Wu Fei were glaring at each other, anyone sane would have done the same thing.

"I'm not afraid of you."

"No, but you're afraid of a woman." At that moment a security guard appeared between the boys. He looked at both of them with glaring hazel eyes, warning them of the conscience of starting a fight.

"Look, if you two don't settle down, I'll have to ask you to leave."

"Then ask us." Wu Fei challenge still heated by Heero's accusation.

"I know you both want Bone Yard tickets, but this isn't the way." The guard glanced at Heero for only a second before returning his full attention back to Wu Fei. "If you keep acting like this, you will be denied ticket sells." Both boys grew silent, neither of them wanted to risk missing tickets. Once the guard was convinced that they wouldn't start again, he turned and left. Now only one person was ahead of Wu Fei. The Preventer looked at the window a moment, then back at the Japanese boy.

"Tell you what Yuy. . .if I buy the last of the tickets, I'll fight you for it."

"Fight?"

"One on one, no weapons." Heero's smile spread across his lips.

"You're on, and I don't want to hear you cry when you lose." Wu Fei snickered as he advanced.

"You better hope they have extra ones at the show."

"Hi, how many tickets would you like?"

"How many do you have left?"

"Just five."

"I'll take them."

"You bastard." Heero barked from behind and Wu Fei only laughed. Wu Fei paid for the five remaining tickets, and stuck them in his pocket. He turned to Heero, grinning evilly as the woman placed a sign stating that they were sold out. There were a few groans from the people behind as the line started to break up. Heero kept his eye on Wu Fei as they made their way into the parking lot.

"I've always wanted to fight you like this."

"Why don't we go somewhere else, where we won't be interrupted?" Heero offered as they stepped out into the sunlight. It was then that Trowa could be seen advancing toward the building.

"Where ever. It doesn't matter."

"Did you get the tickets?" Trowa wondered as he came into ear shot. Telling from the scowl on Heero's face, he guess the answer was 'no.' Heero didn't answer as he grabbed the Latin's upper arm and started pulling him back toward the parking lot. "Heero, what's going on?"

"I'll explain on the way." He answered as he watched to see what kind of vehicle Wu Fei was getting into. It was a black Nissan. He pushed Trowa into the driver's seat of his car. "Just follow that Nissan." He informed and pointed toward Wu Fei's.

"Did you at least get the tickets?"

"No. Some asshole bought the last one. Now I'm going to kick his ass for it."

"Heero." Trowa's tone was nothing less of shock and scorn. "Don't tell me you're going to stalk this guy just to beat him up and steal his ticket."

"No. It's just Wu Fei."

"Is that suppose to be better?"

"It's arranged. He bought the last one so he could fight me."

"You're going to fight Wu Fei for a ticket to a concert?"

"Not just any ticket Trowa. . .and I don't plan on fighting him."

"What?"

"There's no need for me to waste my time and energy on him. Besides, I'm tired, I want to go home and take a shower at least." Trowa's eyebrow arched in confusion. "You try standing in line behind a guy that smells like a pig for two days and still smell good yourself. I'm in no mood to play stupid games. You think by now, he'd learn he can't win against me."

"Maybe because he kicked your ass twice already?"

"What?"

"Once on L3 and while falling to Earth." Heero glared at the Latin a quick moment.

"The fight on L3 wasn't fair. I had a cheap Space Leo and he had a Gundam. And as far as the fight while falling to Earth goes, I gave up."

"So, how is it that he didn't win?"

"Who's side are you on any ways?"

"I just think it's childish."

"This is childish when he bought the last ticket knowing that I wanted it. There he is. . .why don't you go back home. I'll have Wu Fei give me a ride home."

"Heero, I don't think. . ."

"Just go. Everything will be fine." Trowa sighed as Heero jumped out of the car. Wu Fei was already waiting. He had removed his jacket and was leaning against the side of his car. He had chosen an empty lot. The colbat eyes traced the Chinese boy, wondering where the tickets were. Wu Fei didn't seem to have them, so it was possible that they could still be in the car. Following the orders given, Trowa left the battlefield as Wu Fei stood up straight, arms crossed and grinning smugly.

"You ready?" He asked as he pushed from the car and closed the gap between them. Heero didn't answer; instead, he swung at the Chinese challenger. As expected, Wu Fei dodged and countered with a donkey kick. Heero dropped and performed a round house, knocking the Preventer to the ground. In a instant, the Perfect Soldier was on his feet and dashing toward the car. He easily broke the window to the Nissan and slid into the driver seat. Just as Wu Fei recollected himself and ran back to the car, Heero had already had it hot wired and pulling off. "It's not over Yuy!" Wu Fei called as Heero glanced back at him in the rear view mirror.
